The Story of a Forgotten Viking Hero: Retold

I have always dreamed of becoming a writer, and publishing my own book in that matter. There were stories I have only woven in my mind, untold and never written; afraid to transcribe it on paper. But dreams will only be dreams if you will not put it into action...finding that spark of inspiration and taking that magical first step.

Today, I can say that I have somehow reached that dream.

I have published my first book and it's all because of CreateSpace and the blogging communities.

My first book, Griffin's Love: Mated for Life, is a story about star-crossed lovers, though separated by centuries, their love for each other was so pure that it transcends time.

Some parts of the story were set during the Medieval Period, specifically, during the Viking Age. Thus, you will learn facts about the life of the Vikings during those period from their sod houses to their famous longships. Reading the story will somehow give you a front-seat view of a life from the past. Given that knowledge, you will appreciate even more the safety and comfort today's life brings.

I am also happy to note that the story was inspired by the British Museum's Viking Exhibition. The said exhibition opens last  March 8, which is the time and place of the first and the last chapter of the book. As a self-professed history lover, I can say that the Vikings were one of the most influential people during the Dark Ages. One of them was Ubbe Ragnarsson.

Ubbe Ragnarsson, the son of Ragnar Lothbrok, was a Viking Chieftain loved by his people but feared by his enemies. He conquered hundreds of lands, giving glory and honor to the Norsemen. But just like any heroes, this hero was doomed to fall at the Battle of Cynwit. And Alex, an ordinary woman of the 21st Century, has been chosen by the gods to accomplish an enchanted undertaking. She had not only accomplished her task, but she had conquered the Viking warlord's heart as well.

This story will make you believe on the power of true love, all over again.

Griffin's Love: Mated for Life

"The heroic books, even if printed in the character of our mother tongue, will always be in a language dead to degenerate times; and we must laboriously seek the meaning of each word and line, conjecturing a larger sense than common use permits out of what wisdom and valor and generosity we have." -Henry David Thoreau

The World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre in the north-west corner of the British Museum's Bloomsbury quadrangle will have a major exhibition on the Vikings. The exhibition will not only center on the core period of the Viking Age from the late 8th century to the early 11th century but will also highlight many new archaeological discoveries and objects never seen before in the United Kingdom alongside important Viking Age artifacts.

But one thing had piqued Alex's interest: they will display an interesting artifact, an object of digital signage. Alex, a self professed history buff and lover, have thrown everything away and travel to London, hoping to reunite with her Viking warrior and share the promise of forever.

Ubbe Ragnarsson was a Viking Chieftain feared by many, and finding the strange woman from his last expedition had his life turned 360 degrees. Separated by centuries, he had come to love the woman and he was willing to do everything to keep her. But his life was doomed to end at the Battle of Cynwit.

Could a love of these two star-crossed lovers, as strong as the cosmic force, find its way?

Join Alex as she travelled back in time from finding the enchanted locket to meeting the Viking Chieftain, Ubbe Ragnarsson.
